Accessibility notes

stairs

Their entire practice has some baked-in COVID-cautious practices. And they are VERY nice.
First, their office is access restricted. They only let one patient through the door at a time.
Second, they are a husband and wife team and that’s it – no additional staff.
Third, they both wear N95s, then a surgical mask over top the N95, and the dentist wears a face shield when working on you.
Fourth, they have two small Levoit air purifiers (too small for the space and probably not run on the highest level, but they do exist).
And finally, if you note you are covid conscious, they will schedule you for the first appointment of the morning (8a). I wore a readimask with the nose hack, and then a Trident over top of that until we were ready for the dental work. I took a second trident with me to put on after the work was done.
Down sides:
1. It cost me $500 or so for the first visit and the same for the redoing my old filling.
2. They asked me to remove my trident part way through the intro meeting and then kept engaging me in conversation – making it impossible to rely solely on my readimask. The dentist did this apparently to see how my jaw moves, and he made some recommendations to me for brushing and flossing based on those observations, but I did not like that at all. I suspect if you call ahead of time and say you do not want to do that and you expect not to speak at all after removing your main mask, they will honor that request.
3. I’m nearly certain the wife had only one of the two straps of her N95 on the second time I went. So that was weird.
Overall – I’d be surprised to find a more COVID-safe dentist. Very little to improve on – particularly among things you couldn’t inform them of ahead of time.
If you can go without removing your mask until work starts, the only improvements would be a properly-sized air purifier, confirmation of how long the purifier had been running, fit testing for the staff, pluslife tests ahead of time, and cheaper price.
But… who does all those things?
Overall very happy with them.
